Statement

Microsoft Word - Artist statement for festivals 2023.docx

For me a mural or a painting is not only a representation of a theme, is a way of
learning about our world, our surrounding, how we connect to the world around us, and
how our personal experience can transform the way we perceive nature and other
human beings and cultures, and how our humanity itself could be a result of this
interactions. The use of color, how it's mixed, the strokes, textures, and the contrast
between mid-tones, shadows, and lights can create a language of its own. All of these
components are present in my technique and the way I work. For the last two years,
I’ve been working with environmental justice, especially water reserves and migratory
animals conservation, and also how nature creates bonds between people.
